Bastardo struck out Rick Ankiel, but a Wilson Ramos single scored 2 runners, a pinch hit home run from Xavier Nady tied the game, and the Nats added 4 more runs in the 8th on a Bryce Harper solo homer and a 3-run shot from Espinosa. |

Danny Espinosa hit one over the fence and had 3 RBI at Nationals Park as the
Washington Nationals beat the Philadelphia Phillies by the count of 8 to
4.
Washington scored the decisive runs in a big bottom of the 8th inning when
they came up with 4 runs on 6 hits. The biggest moment was provided by
Espinosa who made the Washington fans a happy lot when he lofted a three-run
bomb. Philadelphia was out-hit by Washington, 12 hits to 8.
Henry Rodriguez(1-1) allowed no runs in 1 inning, and picked up the victory.
The losing pitcher was Antonio Bastardo(0-2) in relief. He gave up 3 runs
and 3 hits in 1 inning.
