The Sox were down 7-0 at the 7th inning stretch, but finally got on the board in the bottom of the 7th and then scored 6 runs on 6 straight hits to start the 8th, capped by a game-tying 3-run home run from Cody Ross. 13 innings by the score of 8 to 7 at Fenway Park.
The game was deadlocked at 7 after nine full innings. Boston ended up winning
it in the 13th inning. After an out was recorded, Darnell McDonald doubled.
Jarrod Saltalamacchia followed and he doubled resulting in an exciting win
for Boston and a wild post-game celebration by the home town fans. Both
teams totaled 12 hits on the afternoon.
The win went to Aceves(2-1) who allowed no runs in 4 innings. Joel
Peralta(0-2) was hit with the loss in relief. He pitched 1 and 1/3 innings
and surrendered 2 hits and no walks.
