First baseman Adam Laroche left the yard and had 4 RBI as the Washington
Nationals ballclub embarrassed the Houston Astros by the count of 15 to
4.
The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Laroche. He rifled a three-run blast in the 2nd inning, lashed a
single in the 4th inning and doubled in the 6th inning. Washington kept the
scorekeepers busy in the 1st inning which saw them score 5 runs on 4 hits.
The Washington offense man-handled the Houston pitching staff as they scored
in 7 of the 9 innings.
Jordan Zimmermann(2-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 innings and
allowing 3 runs. Lucas Harrell(0-2) was the loser.
