The Boston Red Sox had very little trouble at Fenway Park downing the New York
(AL) Yankees. The score was 8 to 2.
Boston took the lead for good in the bottom of the 2nd inning when they scored
3 runs on 4 hits. That early run support was all that Clay Buchholz(2-0)
required. Boston had 11 hits overall, while New York (AL) had 8.
Ivan Nova(2-1) was the loser. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up
10 hits and 5 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings. Wth the win Boston now has a
record of 9-4. With this loss, New York (AL) has a 7-3 record of late, 9-5
overall.
