April 27, 2012: Red Sox 8 White Sox 0

The Red Sox make it 8 straight wins with an 8-0 win over the White Sox. Daniel Bard almost went the distance for his first win as a starter, allowing just 4 hits over 8 2/3. The pitch count was getting a little too high so once a runner got on in the 9th, Rich Hill came in to get the game's final out.

The offense was showing its might early with 3 runs in the 1st on a 2-run homer from Dustin Pedroia and a solo shot from David Ortiz. Pedey had a big day, going 3 for 5 with 4 RBI. Mike Aviles did an excellent job setting the table ahead of Pedroia, reaching base all 5 times he came to the plate. Aviles was the first batter of the inning in the 1st, 3rd and 9th, and singled all 3 times, plus added 2 walks in between.

Second baseman Dustin Pedroia touched them all and had 4 RBI as the seemingly
unstoppable Boston Red Sox defeated the Chicago (AL) White Sox 8 to 0 at US
Cellular Field.

Pedroia provided the offensive punch. He lifted one out of the park for a two
run home run in the 1st inning, lined a one-base hit in the 3rd inning and
doubled scoring two baserunners in the 4th inning. The pitchers took over
after the 4th inning as neither team was able to score again.

Daniel Bard(1-0) went 8 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory. John
Danks(1-3) suffered the loss. He was touched for 10 hits and 2 walks in 3
and 2/3 innings.

It was another victory for Boston at US Cellular Field. Now their winning
streak stands at 8 games. Bobby Valentine was in a great frame of mind in the
clubhouse after the game, 'Everybody's contributing now. Timely hitting,
some slick fielding plays and good pitching when we need it. Man, when
that's happening, this sure is an easy job!'
