The Nationals potent offense was dormant today, but it didn't matter because their dominant pitching was on display and they were able to eke out a 1-0 win over the now Miami Marlins. The Nats' 3-4-5 hitters went single-walk-single in the 1st, scoring the game's only run. The Nats got 7 shutout innings from Ross Detwiler, and 2 hitless innings from Henry Rodriguez including 5 K's.

Washington claimed the early lead in the first inning scoring a single run
using 2 hits.  After two outs Ryan Zimmerman lined a single.  Adam Laroche
came next and he drew a walk.  Werth then lined a one-base hit.  Rick Ankiel
got his turn next, but he was a strikeout victim.  That early scoring was all
that Detwiler(2-0) needed.  Washington had only 6 hits for the game.
 
Detwiler was helped out by Henry Rodriguez who recorded his 3rd save. Carlos
Zambrano(0-3) ended up with the loss.  He surrendered 1 run and 4 hits in 5
innings.
