April 19, 2012: Nationals 5 Astros 3

This was a much closer game than yesterday's shellacking, but the Nats still come away with the win that completes a four game series sweep of the Astros. The Astros had the lead until the 6th, when the Nats scored the tying run thanks to a Steve Lombardozzi double and an Ian Desmond pinch hit single, then scored the go-ahead run when Desmond scored on a Ryan Zimmerman single after moving to 2nd on a Danny Espinosa walk. Espinosa was also responsible for the Nats' first run in the first inning thanks to a solo homer.

The Astros tied it back up with a run in the 8th, but the swingin' Nats scored 2 in the bottom of the inning to retake the lead. Roger Bernadina led off with a single and advanced to third on an outfield error. Bernadina scored on an Xavier Nady pinch hit single. Nady went to third on a Zimmerman single and scored on an Adam Laroche sac fly.

Tom Gorzelanny is the win burglar - he cost Edwin Jackson the win when he gave up the lead in the 8th, but then gets the win because the Nats scored the winning run in the bottom of the 8th. Brad Lidge gets his 2nd save in a currently open competition for the Nats closer role - a role that Tyler Clippard would claim in real life.
