October 10, 2012: A's 6 Yankees 4 (A's lead series, 2-1)

The A's took advantage of Yankee Stadium's homer friendliness, especially for left handed hitters, as Brandon Moss, Josh Reddick, Seth Smith and George Kotteras all went deep in a 6-4 win. Russell Martin and Ichiro Suzuki of the Yankees also got in on the action and pulled the Yankees within 2 in the bottom of the 8th, but Grant Balfour entered for the A's and allowed just one walk en route to the last 5 outs and his first save of the series.

The Yankees will send Phil Hughes to the mound in a must-win game 4. The A's will counter with Jarrod Parker, who made easy work of the Blue Jays in the wild card game.
