October 7, 2012: Nationals 8 Phillies 1 (Nationals lead series, 1-0)

The Nationals used 3 longballs and 7 strong innings from Gio Gonzalez to take down the Phillies in game 1 of their Division Series. Adam Laroche gave the Nats the lead for good with a solo shot to lead off the 4th, then 3 batters later Danny Espinosa hit a 3-run shot to give the Nats a commanding lead. They would add 3 more insurance runs before it was over, while the Phillies couldn't get anything going against Gonzalez, who allowed just 3 hits, 1 run and 2 walks while striking out 8.
