October 8, 2012: Phillies 4 Nationals 2 (series tied, 1-1)

The Nationals got 2 runs early and Jordan Zimmermann seemed to be in control, but the Phillies tied it up with runs in the 5th and 6th and eventually scored the walk-off win when Darin Ruf took Craig Stammen deep in the bottom of the 12th.

The series will go back to Washington all tied up.

In a good matchup it was the Philadelphia Phillies 4, the Washington Nationals
2 in 12 innings at Citizens Bank Park.
 
Both teams were tied at 2 runs apiece after nine innings.  Finally,
Philadelphia pulled the game out in the 12th inning.  After an out was
recorded, Domonic Brown jump-started the rally as he banged out a single.
Darin Ruf stepped up next and he cracked a two-run shot resulting in an
exciting win for Philadelphia and a raucous post-game celebration by the home
town fans.  Philadelphia banged out 8 hits on the night.  
 
Josh Lindblom(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 and 2/3
innings. Craig Stammen(0-1) absorbed the loss in relief.  He gave up 2 runs
and 3 hits in 1 and 1/3 innings.
